Optionally, also visit Pelisor Castle, part of the same complex as the larger castle of Peles.ĭAY 3 – VISIT THE FORTIFIED CHURCHES IN PREJMER AND HARMAN The fortified church of HarmanĪfter breakfast, take a short drive to discover the fortified churches in Prejmer (17.6 km, 30 min from Brasov) and Harman (9.2 km, 15 min from Prejmer). It is the former summer residence of the royal family and was built at the end of the 19th century, surprisingly modern for those times. Peles Castle is probably the most ornate among its Romanian peers. The Castle is roughly 2 hrs away from Bucharest and 1 hr before reaching Brasov. On your way to Brasov, we recommend you stop in Sinaia, to visit Peles Castle. In the morning, start driving towards Transylvania, and your first stop is Brasov (180 km, 3 hrs). ![]() There are plenty of activities that we can arrange for kids, depending on their age, such as creating a treasure hunt in the parks and museums, cooking workshops, trips with the local subway, boat rides on the lake, etc. Walking is the best way to meet the various facets of the city, and that’s how you’re going to kick off your Romanian adventure.
